Established in 1958, Security Consultants, Inc. is a licensed and insured Security Company & Training Academy providing armed, unarmed, uniformed, plainclothes, and soft uniform security officer services and training, throughout the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Our company provides all clients with highly trained and specialized officers certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.

Security Consultants, Inc. has a unique blend of Security, Law Enforcement and Crime prevention experience that equips Officers to work in a variety of organizational and industrial settings.

Roy Claisse

Security Consultants, Inc. is lead by Roy Claisse, the owner, training instructor, and certified DCJS Range Master, has over 30 years experience in security. Mr. Claisse is a retired Master Training Specialist and Range Master after 20 years in the US Navy and a former police officer. He is also a DCJS Registered Compliance Agent.

Michael Tynan - Lead Instructor

Michael is a twice retired Law Enforcement professional. He has retired through the VRS, holding positions as a DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer & Criminal Investigator. He has also served his country in the Military Police career field on both active duty and later as a recalled reservist.

Michael was granted his current status as a DCJS-PSS Instructor certification based on his prior experience. Security Consultants is very proud to have Michael on our training team!

Christopher Toney - Director of Operations

Christopher Toney, formerly of the Chesapeake Police Department, is charged with managing the physical operations of new accounts, marketing and sales, and  he serves as Lead Investigator.  Mr. Toney is a DCJS certified police officer, General Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. He is also a DCJS registered Private Investigator, Armed Security Officer and Alarm Respondent.

Mr. Toney has previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard and various other security related positions over the past two decades.

Our Standards for Security Officers

We insure All Security Officers, trained by Security Consultants, know how to protect personnel and property by maintaining high visibility and Officer Presence. Officers are trained to observe for signs of crime, fire or disorder; then take the proper action to report these incidents.

Security Consultants believes in the selection and training of Officers with a superior standard of ethics & integrity. Security Consultants insures that Officers go through an extensive testing by our instructors and that the background checks conducted, exceed the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services requirements. Security Consultants sets the standard in the Private Security industry.
